Working within the Employment and Immigration team
Our Employment and Immigration team works on some of the most complex cases in the UK. Our team is the largest and leading provider of employment law services based in Wales with increasing presence in London. With 24 fee earners and 9 paralegals and trainees we demonstrate excellence in our core specialisms of litigation (claimant and respondent), HR investigations, business immigration, corporate transactional support, and everything in between. Growth has always come from a focused and targeted approach, both to current clients and new ones. Our team members are encouraged to dictate their own business plans, whether that means feeding into an existing plan, or identifying new opportunities.
On this occasion, we are looking for an experienced employment tribunal litigator, ideally with both claimant and respondent experience, to bolster our existing team at Associate level. We need someone who can review documentation relating to a claim and distil the essential facts to prepare a clear and detailed merits assessments for potential claims. You will be able to take cases which have merit from ET1/ ET3 to final hearing, navigating all and any case management directions and client concerns along the way. Whilst advocacy experience is desirable, it is not essential.
You’ll need:
- 4+ years post-qualification experience in Employment Litigation work.
- a proven track record of managing a case load of ET claims.
- excellent written and oral communication skills, clear written presentation, strong organisational skills, good time management, good initiative, and problem-solving ability.
- to be technically competent and commercially aware.
- a flexible and collaborative approach to working with others. You will be a team player with a strong client focused approach and have plenty of drive and enthusiasm to help us to provide an excellent client service; and
- to be capable of working effectively under pressure and using own initiative to tackle tough decisions and present innovative ways to help clients.
