Laura Spendiff and Gareth Williams-Davies from the firm’s corporate team, and Charlotte Gregory from its financial services team, have all been promoted to partner.
Laura and Gareth both specialise in private equity transactions and mergers and acquisitions. They have played a key role in driving Capital’s growth in this sector, having advised on several landmark deals. Charlotte works with clients on a broad range of commercial and contentious issues, with a focus on insurance and wider financial regulation. She joined the firm’s London office in January 2021, with the specific aim of helping the growth of Capital’s unique financial services practice, particularly in the insurtech and fintech sectors.
The new senior associates include Oliver Woodhouse from Capital’s financial services team, as well as Clare Good and David Moore from the firm’s disputes team.
With significant experience in the InsurTech and FinTech sectors, Oliver has developed strong expertise in payments and cryptoasset regulation. Clare is an expert in commercial, business and property disputes with a keen interest in the healthcare sector – regularly advising GP partnerships on premises issues on behalf of the British medical Association. David specialises in breach of contract, shareholder/director issues and risk management, with significant experience in a broad range of public and private sector disputes in various courts.
Finally, Emma Chapple – who specialises in landlord and tenant and acquisitions – and Catherine James – who specialises in mergers, acquisitions and investments – have both been promoted to associate.
These promotions take the total number of partners to 29, that of senior associates to 15, and that of associates to 20 – just as Capital reaches 200 employees.
