Ellie Shanahan and Cath Golledge, from Capital Law’s corporate team, both worked on the investment, which will help Dog Furiendly to accelerate the scale of their business through both financial and strategic support.
The platform, now nominated at the Wales Start Up Awards 2020, allows dog owners to save their favourite places and leave reviews. It was created by Adele Pember from Blaenau Gwent, who was one of 15 entrepreneurs pitching their businesses to a panel of five angel investors at the Pitch It Valleys event.
Ellie Shanahan, Solicitor at Capital Law, said:
This was a fantastic way to kickstart the Pitch it Valleys initiative, and it was great to work with Adele to secure this investment. Dog Furiendly provides an innovative and exciting way for dog owners to plan their adventures and trips with their furry legged friends and we look forward to seeing this business develop and become a worldwide brand.”
Adele Pember, Founder at Dog Furiendly, said:
Capital Law were very helpful from the start of the process right through to the finish. This was all new to me, so felt fairly daunting to begin with, but the team at Capital Law were both friendly and comforting throughout the whole experience. They provided great advice helping us avoid a number of pitfalls making sure we had ‘all bases’ covered. We were particularly impressed with the organisation and attention to detail. For an experience that always seems so scary for a start-up, Capital Law made it so easy!”
