Simona is a Principal Associate in our Commercial Disputes team.
She has a strong litigation background advising governments, large corporate organisations and individuals on a variety of issues including fraud, contractual, shareholder, negligence, misrepresentation and conspiracy. Her cases often span multiple jurisdictions and Simona is adept in navigating both the Claimant and the Defendant perspective.
Simona counsels clients across a number of sectors, with a particular focus on the Energy and Life Sciences sectors, as well as claims connected to the Public Sector.
In addition to her experience in private practice, Simona has considerable in-house and regulatory experience, having worked for the Office of General Counsel of two Big Four professional services firms (PwC UK and KPMG UK), a global real estate investment business (PGIM Real Estate) and a financial regulator (Financial Conduct Authority).

One of the largest disputes before the Commercial Court
Represented the first and main defendant in one of The Lawyer’s ‘Top 20 cases of 2020’ and one of the largest disputes ever before the Commercial Court, involving alleged secret commissions in the Middle East and Europe.
€115 million fraud claim for the Kindom of Sweden
Acted for the Kingdom of Sweden in pursuit of fraud claims under Maltese and Swedish law seeking in excess of €115 million and obtaining worldwide freezing orders and proprietary injunctions against three of the defendants: Sweden v Serwin [2020] EWHC 486 (Comm). The case was nominated for The Lawyer Awards 2023 – Litigation Team of The Year.
Conspiracy and fraudulent misrepresentation claim
Acted for the claimant in a conspiracy and fraudulent misrepresentation claim for non-payment of sums owed for the supply of crude oil in excess of $100 million.
Complex interplay case
Acted for the applicant/defendant in a case involving the complex interplay between service of applications outside of the jurisdiction and alternative service in the context of the Hague Service Convention.
Breach of competition law
Acted for a pharmaceuticals claimant in a claim for breach of competition law warranties in a Share and Purchase Agreement in the context of an underlying Competition and Markets Authority investigation.
